Mustafa Parıldar
Mustafa Parıldar, who was born in the Siverek district of Turkey’s southern province Şanlıurfa in 1982, attended Şanlıurfa Eyyûbiye Primary School and Şanlıurfa İmam Hatip High School. He received his bachelor’s degree from Selçuk University’s calligraphy department at the Fine Arts Faculty in 2007. He started his calligraphy training with Hacı Alp, a Quran teacher and renowned calligrapher. He also attended calligraphy lessons given by calligrapher Mehmet Memiş in 1995. Parıldar practiced the calligraphy styles of thuluth and naskh with Mehmet Memiş and received his diploma in 2010. He also practiced riq’a, diwani, jali diwani and tal’iq with calligrapher Hüseyin Öksüz while he was still an undergraduate. After giving calligraphy lessons at Konya Metropolitan Municipality’s Vocational Acquisition (KOMEK) courses and the Meram Public Training Center for a while, he moved to Istanbul. He benefited from the experiences of masters such as Uğur Derman, Osman Özçay, Mehmed Özçay, Davut Bektaş and Ali Toy. He then worked as an expert at the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University for some time. He has participated in many national and international exhibitions.
