Sami Naddah
Born in Damascus in 1980, the artist completed his undergraduate studies in 2008 at Selçuk University, Department of Traditional Turkish Arts, Division of Calligraphy, graduating first in his faculty. Between 2010 and 2013, he completed his master's degree in the Department of Traditional Turkish Arts at the Institute of Social Sciences of the same university. Having completed his calligraphy training in various styles under Asst. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Öksüz and receiving his icazet (license) in the Thuluth-Naskh scripts, Naddah began his doctoral studies in 2013 at Necmettin Erbakan University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Islamic History and Arts. In 2014, he became a lecturer at NEU Faculty of Fine Arts.
Alongside his scientific research on Islamic calligraphy, he has participated in exhibitions, conferences, and live performances both domestically and internationally, including in Istanbul, Konya, London, Shanghai, and Algiers. He has been awarded three prizes in international Islamic calligraphy competitions.
