In all the stories of the prophets mentioned in the Holy Qur'an, the prophets proclaim that the reward for their preaching will be granted by Allah. However, in Verse 23 of Surah Ash-Shura, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is commanded to ask his nation for mawaddah (love and affection) toward his Ahl al-Bayt as a response to his message. The Hadith featured in this magnificent calligraphic artwork serves as an explanation of this noble verse and a reminder from our Prophet to his nation.
This Hadith, narrated regarding Our Mother Fatimah—the apple of the eye of the Ahl al-Bayt and the cherished daughter through whom the lineage of our Prophet continues—emphasizes her immense value in the presence of the Messenger of Allah. In this exquisite artwork, where the composition and the text are in perfect harmony, the composition consists of two parts. The name of Our Mother Fatimah is positioned in the upper part of the arrangement, creating the impression that she is held above all else. Prepared in 2022 by Calligrapher Osman Özçay in the Jali Thuluth script style, this magnificent piece is crafted as zerendûd (gold leaf calligraphy) on a blue background. The Fatimah Hadith calligraphic frame is reproduced in museum quality at our workshop and presented to art lovers.
Calligrapher Osman Özçay was born in Çaykara, in the province of Trabzon in 1963. He attended the same school as his brother Mehmet in Gerede and finished high-school there. After studying at the Islamic Institute in Erzurum for two years, he transferred to the Islamic Studies Department of Marmara University in Istanbul. He graduated in 1986.
