In Surah At-Tahrim, Verse 8, our Lord promised His mercy to us, His servants, by stating: “O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere and resolute repentance. It may be that your Lord will remit your sins.”
Repentance (Tawbah) means feeling deep regret for a sin or an offense and making a firm decision not to commit it again. In the Hadith-i Sharif that is the subject of this calligraphic work, the Prophet (peace be upon him) gave glad tidings to his ummah by stating: “The one who repents from sin is like one who has no sin.” However, it should be noted that repentance is not merely seeking forgiveness from Allah with the tongue. Repentance is the name of reaching a sincere awareness regarding a sin and making a resolute vow to turn away from it forever.
