Surah Al-Asr—whose significance Imam Al-Shafi’i (may Allah have mercy on him) emphasized by stating, 'If nothing else had been revealed from the Quran, Surah Al-Asr alone would have been sufficient for humanity. This surah encompasses all the knowledge of the Quran'—comes to life through the pen of calligrapher Osman Özçay. Illuminated by his sister Fatma Özçay, this unique artwork was written in line form (satır) using the Jali Thuluth script. The Surah Al-Asr calligraphy print is reproduced from the original piece created by the artist in 2015 and presented to art enthusiasts.

Calligrapher Osman Özçay was born in Çaykara, in the province of Trabzon in 1963. He attended the same school as his brother Mehmet in Gerede and finished high-school there. After studying at the Islamic Institute in Erzurum for two years, he transferred to the Islamic Studies Department of Marmara University in Istanbul. He graduated in 1986.
