While Raghib al-Isfahani’s definition of the divine name "Al-Hayy" as "the Being for whom death is not applicable" expresses that Allah alone is eternal without beginning or end, the noble name "Al-Qayyum" signifies that Allah's existence is independent of anyone, whereas all created beings are in need of Allah.
These two noble names, upon which we mortals should contemplate deeply, were brought to paper in the Jali Thuluth script style and mirrored (müsenna) composition through the sublime artistry of Calligrapher Osman Özçay. The Huwa al-Hayy al-Qayyum calligraphic frame is reproduced from the artwork written by the artist in 2015 and presented to art lovers.
